This is how going plant-based CHANGED my LIFE



There are so many benefits to eating a plant-based diet, from better digestive health, stable weight, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, more energy and vitality, etc!


1. CLEARER SKIN


The biggest thing that has changed since going plant-based is that my skin is so much clearer than before. I went through a phase in life where I was suffering from non-stop acne, and terrible acne scars. Since going plant-based and sticking to this diet, my acne has never flared up since. Of course, I still get minor breakouts every now and again but I have gained so much more control over my skin, and so much more confidence within myself as well!


2. LIGHTER MENSTRUAL FLOW


Since adopting a plant-based diet my menstrual flow has lightened and my cramps have lightened up as well. I was never one to suffer greatly during this time of the month, but it is nice to not have to deal or worry about too much/heavy cramping.



3. I EAT MUCH MORE FOODS


Learning about food and trying out different foods has allowed me to become more open to different varieties of foods. I never realized how much I enjoy cooking until I started my plant-based journey, finding creative substitutions and different ways to eat rather than following the Standard American Diet. I found a diet that worked for ME. There is no one diet that fits all, and I am becoming more and more intuitive about what foods to eat or not eat.


4. I’VE BECOME MORE HEALTH CONSCIOUS


I pay so much more attention to the foods that I put in my body, and I CARE so much more about the foods that I put into my body. When you go plant-based and start your health journey, you start to raise your awareness of food and how food is grown, made, distributed, where it comes from, etc. I can’t just eat anything and everything anymore because I have become too aware of the destruction that certain foods and chemicals can and will do to my mind and body; and through this journey of raising my awareness, I have more love and appreciation for my life and for my body.




5. I’M A GARDNER NOW


Since going plant-based I’ve begun gardening! Going plant-based has allowed me to see the importance of growing my own food, and it has helped me to build a better relationship with and appreciate my food so much more. I have grown peppers, mint, strawberries, tomatoes, basil, onions, etc; and I'd like to thank my transition to a healthier plant based lifestyle for opening the doors of gardening.
